Helderberg Quilt Barn Trail is a driving tour of wooden, painted barn quilts in the Helderberg Hilltowns of Albany County in Upstate New York. It is part of a national grassroots folk art movement that celebrates our rural architecture and legacy of quilting. HQBT is organized by a committee of dedicated volunteers. Learn about joining the trail here. Get your HQBT map and guide. Download and print it, then take a tour.
Helderberg Quilt Barn Trail Goes Viral!
On April 4, HQBT founders Jane McLean and John Elberfeld met with NYS Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara to tape a segment for "Assembly Update." They explained that writing their book "Helderberg Hilltowns" led them to an appreciation of rural architecture and a desire to draw attention to our beautiful barns and sheds . Many thanks to Assembly Santabarbara and his staff for a great experience!
